Featured Baker of the Month
Kathryn Shields Dahlberg | Sourdough Baker
Bravo @amore_fermentum, your artisan-quality bread has earned you our coveted Challenger Breadware Featured Baker of the Month recognition, congratulations! 🥖✨
Who or what first inspired you to start baking bread?
After being gluten-free for over six years and focusing on my health, I began hearing that sourdough might work differently. I reached out to a friend and asked, “How do I even start?” and that simple question opened the door to bread baking.
What’s a challenge that taught you the most in your baking journey?
Learning to stop chasing the clock and start reading the dough. Understanding fermentation, rather than forcing timelines, changed everything about my baking.
What’s your favorite tip for getting great results in the Challenger Bread Pan?
Preheating the pan fully and letting the steam do the work. When fermentation is right, the pan just works its magic. Also, I do love to use a Bread Mat in the bottom to help prevent burned bottoms.
The Ultimate Bread Pan®
Discover the Challenger Bread Pan and fall in love with its perfectly placed handles (large enough for your oven mitts), its thick cast iron construction that ensures steady high heat, a tightly sealed environment for optimal steam creation, and its versatile design that accommodates numerous bread shapes and sizes.
