Featured Baker of the Month
Eika Hunt | Baker
Kudos, @charlottethebaker, you’re our Featured Baker of the Month! Your bread is absolutely beautiful–inside and out! We’re so inspired by your craft!
Tell us something memorable about your sourdough starter.
My sourdough starter’s name is Audrey 3. I created her in 2020 while working remotely. She was made from fermented raisin water. I shared her with a couple of friends, and they are doing very well on their sourdough journeys. I’m very proud of my Audrey.
Who or what first inspired you to start baking bread?
It was Jenny Jones. A friend of mine sent me a link for Jenny’s no kneading bread. It started from there.
What’s your favorite tip or technique for getting great results in the Challenger Bread Pan?
I adjust the baking time and temperature depending on what inclusions I use. When I add dried fruits or chocolate, I bake them a little shorter than when I bake plain breads. Also, I discovered that the silicone baking sheets works great with my Challenger pan.
The Ultimate Bread Pan®
Discover the Challenger Bread Pan and fall in love with its perfectly placed handles (large enough for your oven mitts), its thick cast iron construction that ensures steady high heat, a tightly sealed environment for optimal steam creation, and its versatile design that accommodates numerous bread shapes and sizes.
